About Us

Katie Jones

“I’m Katie and I’m studying Film at Falmouth University but I’m originally from Cheltenham, Gloucestershire. I’ve made a number of short films over the years both for projects for school and in my spare time. My favourite film is Submarine (2010), directed by Richard Ayoade. It’s a beautifully shot, coming of age story that’s moving, yet also very comedic. For this project I am taking up the roles of Director and Editor because I want to put my directing skills to the test and learn how to edit professionally. I’m excited to utilise my previous knowledge as well as gain some new experiences in the coming months.”

Freja King

“Hi, I’m Freja and I’m originally from a small village in the middle of nowhere back in Wiltshire. I seem to have a different answer whenever anyone asks me what my favourite film is but I always go back to Into The Wild (2007) directed by Sean Penn purely for the way in which the main character is presented as fully abandoning modern life and it’s stresses and becoming one with nature. While this is among my favourite films, my favourite director is easily Xavier Dolan. I find that his films tackle issues of representation that are rarely seen in mainstream media and I hope that I can one day shoot a film as visually stunning as his semi autobiographical J’ai Tué Ma Mère (2009). I think it is films like this which use colour scheme and composition to tell stories which have made me so interested in trying out cinematography and move away from my comfort zone which, up until this point, has been predominantly writing scripts.”

Jack Latham

“I’m the Producer and Sound Designer for this project because I wanted to learn more about sound design and oversee the other aspects of the project as I don’t have a definitive specialism. My previous filmmaking experience include being apart of the BFI Film Academy 2015. I have a Silver Arts Award and have worked as part of video production at an independent car dealership. Some of my favourite films include The Grand Budapest Hotel , The Social Network and The Martian because I enjoy the storyline of the films as well as the portrayal of each main character. I’m looking forward to learning new skills and developing my current skills to a state whereby they could be considered professional. I look forward to working with fellow students and seeing the amount of creativity that can arise from these collaborations.”
